Little Rock Black Pride is a group of volunteers who put together Little Rock’s annual pride celebration. Currently, the group is in its third year and has officially became a 501(c)3 organization.
Mission Statement
The Mission Statement of Little Rock Black Pride is to host events that honor the history and diversity of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender (GLBT) individuals in the State of Arkansas and surrounding areas and create unity within the GLBT community and its allies by providing social support and enhancing awareness of the past and present contributions of GLBT individuals through community activities and services, including an annual Pride event.
Serving on the Board
Serving on the Board is an incredibly rewarding, satisfying way to give back to the community; however, it requires a great deal of time, energy, and effort. If this sounds like something you would like to do, LRBP would welcome your involvement. The members of LRBP vote every July to determine who will serve in the expired board member terms for the upcoming year. The LRBP bylaws can give you the complete details of the selection/election process. A tip: LRBP members most likely will vote for those people who they feel understand LRBP and are committed to its success. The best way to convey that characteristic in yourself is to serve as an LRBP volunteer. There are many volunteer positions available.
Bylaws
The bylaws of the organization are available for review. Please note that we are currently revamping the bylaws and they are subject to change at any time.
